I got throttled yesterday and there was nothing i could do about it. i'm confused.

Being fit is a funny thing. It seems like the fitter you get the harder it becomes to stay on top of it. All it takes sometimes is one hard ride or race too many and you are pushed over the edge. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago and I basically felt pretty worked for about 8 days before the legs came back around. I ended up aborting two work out days that I for sure would have forced my way through in my younger days. Then all of a sudden I opened up and had a good week and felt back in the game.
