I haven't had much worthy of writing about lately. This past weekend we made it up to Tulsa for the Keystone race promoted by Raymond Hall. Props to Raymond for putting in the hours to get this race going. He drummed up a huge cash purse for the men's race. The course was super rough and challenging. Warming up i felt pretty good. After the first lap and a half I had already suffered two flats. Game over.... Clarence and I made our way back to Texas, but not before checking out Tulsa's bike share system. It was a pretty cool set up. Would have been even cooler if we could have got the stations to work. We also made a stop at the "Action Figure Museum" in some small Ok town. For all the bill boards they had posted it was a bit of a let down... Sunday was the TX Crit Championship races. I made my way out for what would be an uneventful day in the cat 3 race. Sat in most of the race and felt pretty flat. Oh well, it was still pretty fun. After a good lunch with the family at Joe T's i was not feeling like i had accomplished anything on the bike for the weekend, so i headed out to log a few more hours. Finally contentment... And on a sad note, my commuter pack died this week. She was a work horse hauling load after load for many moons. After being around for a few years she broke a strap that was neatly sewn back together and she kept on truckin'. But her last ride proved to be the final straw. Under the stress of a modest haul her strap once again gave way rendering her unrepairable. She will be replaced, but not forgotten.
