bike practice

for the first time in about three weeks i have been able to ride a few days in a row with no knee pain. foam rollers are magic. now if it could just bring my fitness back.

reset

 my knee hates me. ive been off and on the bike for a few weeks because of it. more off than on. i think i saw my fitness is laying in a gutter somewhere. i plan on crawling back on the bike tomorrow and doing some low intensity rides for the next couple weeks. racing is out of the question at the moment, but riding just for the fun of it will be a good change of routine.

ups and downs

my right leg is toast at the moment. looks like im suffering from that good ole' Iliotibial band syndrome. and just when i thought i was starting to get rolling again. trying to ride through the problem didnt seem to help any. after some online research it looks like its gonna take a couple days off the bike, a few more easy low volume days, some stretching and some bike setup work. on the bright side; less time on the bike leaves more time for other stuff. like reading, cooking, sipping wine, long walks on the beach. you know, that sort of thing.

morale boost

to say i was disappointed with my finish at camp eagle goes without saying. Ive been struggling for weeks to return to some sort of decent form. today i finally had a ride that let me know that i am getting back on track. im still a ways off from being 100%, but it felt good to be be moving in the right direction...

guess what we new line we have at the shop. PARLEE. come by and check them out, they are the sweetest bike you ever layed your eyes on. 

ps: to clear up some confusion. the "Matt loves Rachel" tattoo seen below is not on my butt. thats the butt of our dear friend Navy Nelson. hes committed to this marriage haha.

failure

sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. sometimes you overheat, pop, and dnf after one lap. failure equals motivation.
